ESIC UDC Exam Pattern 2023
In this section, we have provided complete details about the ESIC UDC Exam Pattern for Phase-I, II, and III. As per the notification released by ESIC, the candidates must prepare for the exam in accordance with the pattern mentioned below.
Phase-1 Prelims Exam
The first stage of the ESIC UDC exam is the Phase-1 Prelims Exam, which is meant for qualifying purposes only and the marks obtained in this stage will not be considered for the final selection. The exam will consist of four sections: General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. A total of 100 Objective Type Questions will be asked, with each question carrying 2 marks for a correct answer. However, there will be a negative marking of one-fourth mark for each incorrect answer. The duration of the exam will be 60 minutes (1 hour). It is recommended that candidates prepare for this stage in accordance with the exam pattern mentioned in the ESIC notification.

Phase-2 Mains Exam
The second stage of the ESIC UDC Exam will be considered in the final selection, as it is of a scoring nature. The exam will consist of 4 sections, including General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. There will be a total of 200 objective-type questions, each carrying 1 mark for the correct answer. Negative marking of one-fourth mark will be applied for each incorrect response. The duration of the test will be 120 minutes (2 hours).
